Hello Dutch learners!

Do you want learning Dutch to become more fun?

We are two Artificial Intelligence students from the University of Groningen and for our bachelor's project we've made two tools that might be useful for people who are learning Dutch as a second language. We would like you to evaluate our programs so we can get an impression of their usefulness.

The first program is a Dutch chatbot. A chatbot is a computer program you can chat with. This is a small prototype with which you can practice your learned sentences in a conversation with the computer. You can introduce yourself, ask how the bot is doing and other small subjects, like what you study and where you live. We would like to know what your opinion is about this idea and if futher improvement would be useful.

You can start with the evaluation on this page (where you will also find a link to the chatbot):

The second program is a website that will help you build up your vocabulary by reading Dutch texts. When you post a text, it will colour every word in that text according to how frequent it appears in the Dutch language. This will help you focus on the words that are important to learn first, because they are very common.
Also, when you click on a word, the website will give its translation. These features will enable you to read a Dutch text very quickly. We would really appreciate it if you would take the time to fill in the questionnaire about the program, so we can see how useful it is and where it needs further improvement.

You can find the questions and a link to the program at:

Thank you and good luck learning Dutch!
